Review

We just had to review it – you know what we are talking about: Tiger King, the series on Netflix. What do we score it out of 10: we can’t say here – just listen to the podcast!

Main Topic: Pick Me – Getting into Veterinary Science and choosing a path once graduated

This week we try to answer two common questions we receive via email: How do I get into a veterinary related course? and How do I get into the field of interest once I graduate? Great questions, and no wonder they are commonly asked.

85: Tristan Rich

In this special edition we interview Australian exotics veterinarian Tristan Rich. Tristan ‘went viral‘ after he performed a tumour removal from a goldfish, recording hundreds of thousands of hits on local media and articles relating to the surgery were published in around 150 newspapers worldwide.

Tristan was interviewed at the UPAV exotics conference in late 2018, and we discuss how he became ‘famous’ on the internet, together with some great stories about his work with Orangutans in Indonesia. We were pleased to see Tristan received the Toady Award at the conference for the most entertaining and informative speaker – well deserved, as his presentation was both informative and very, very funny.

He outlines his journey from the UK to the USA, and eventually Tasmania, where he now resides. James was awarded an Order of Australia medal for services to wildlife care.

63: Ho, Ho, Ho!

It’s our Christmas special with Mark and Brendan getting into the holiday spirit (literally) as they reminisce over the happenings in 2018 and look forward to 2019.

News: The winners of the 2018 Comedy Wildlife Awards are out.. and, not surprisingly, they are quite humorous. In other news, a dog digs up a bone.

We wish all our wonderful listeners a safe, happy and restful holiday period and a wonderful 2019.
